This year, the streaming giant introduces AI Podcasts, a fresh addition powered by Google’s NotebookLM technology. This exclusive feature offers Spotify listeners an innovative way to relive their music journey through AI-generated discussions tailored to their listening habits.
Spotify’s collaboration with Google Labs marks a first for its Wrapped experience. The AI Podcast feature uses Google’s NotebookLM Audio Overview technology to create custom podcasts. These podcasts, narrated by AI-generated hosts, provide a concise three-to-six-minute breakdown of each user’s music preferences throughout the year. Users can hear their favorite tracks discussed in a lively podcast format, complete with song titles and statistics.
However, the podcasts maintain a professional tone by avoiding offensive language, even while including potentially provocative song titles. This curated approach ensures a personalized yet family-friendly listening experience.
The AI Podcasts are currently available in select regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and Sweden. Users in these locations can access their Wrapped AI Podcast directly on Spotify’s homepage or by searching for “Your Wrapped AI Podcast” within the app. The feature also supports downloads and sharing, making it easy for users to showcase their musical identity.
For Spotify Premium users, Wrapped 2024 offers additional AI-powered utilities. These include AI DJ: Wrapped, a beta feature that expands on February’s AI DJ launch, and enhanced playlist curation through AI Playlists. Prompts like “create a playlist of my top sad songs this year” allow for even deeper customization, making the Wrapped experience more engaging.
