Shazam has updated its popular music recognition app on Wednesday to include support for the newly launched Apple Music Classical app, as reported by MacRumors.
Apple first announced its plans to launch a dedicated app for classical music lovers back in 2021, after acquiring classical music streaming service Primephonic for an undisclosed sum. While the iPhone-maker initially said the app would be available in 2022, it eventually arrived on March 28 this year.
The app, which currently offers more than 5 million tracks, is available to subscribers of the standard Apple Music plan. With the new integration, Shazam users will now be able to open songs on it after finding them on the music recognition app.

‘’You can now open classical songs from Shazam in the Apple Music Classical app,’’ the app’s release notes for Version 15.33 reads. ‘’Simply Shazam or search for a classical song, tap the menu icon on the track page and select “Open in Classical.“
Shazam was acquired by Apple for an estimated $400 million in September 2018. Since then, the iPhone-maker has integrated Shazam’s music finder solutions into its range of products.
