Samsung announces 3 new smart TVs with NFT support

Ahead of the CES 2022 event, Samsung announced its new smart TVs, which host many innovations. Bringing image quality, sound technologies and smart features, the smart TVs will also be one of the firsts for the gaming world and NFTs.

The new smart TVs announced by Samsung were MICRO LED, Neo QLED and Lifestyle series. While it was stated that 110”, 101” and 89” models of the company’s flagship series MICRO LED will be shown at CES 2022, innovative features that will take place in these TVs have also been announced.

One of the most exciting details that Samsung announced that it would come with its new TVs was that cloud-based gaming platforms Utomik, NVIDIA GeForce Now and Google Stadia would appear on TVs. Accordingly, Samsung will include the ‘Gaming Hub’ category with the renewed Smart Hub, and it will offer its users a cloud-based gaming experience.

Samsung Gaming Hub will not only offer cloud-based gaming. Game consoles that users connect via HDMI will also be located in this center. Users will be able to use Xbox or PlayStation controllers for both, instead of constantly changing arms while playing games from cloud-based gaming platforms or consoles.

Despite the cloud-based gaming partnership with Microsoft established in February 2020, Samsung will not be offering Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud) on its TVs – at least for now.

Another exciting feature that will come with the new 2022 model Samsung TVs will be NFT support. Samsung has announced that it plans to introduce broad support for NFTs starting with 2022 TVs. With this year’s new TVs, Samsung is introducing the world’s first TV-based NFT browser and marketplace platform.

“This application features an intuitive, integrated platform for discovering, purchasing and trading digital artwork through MICRO LED, Neo QLED and The Frame.” Samsung said in a statement

With this platform, Samsung TV users will be able to browse, purchase and showcase their favorite NFTs in the NFT marketplace. The platform will also offer comprehensive information on NFTs and blockchain metadata. More details about the NFT platform will be available in the coming months.

With this move,  Samsung has become the first major TV manufacturer to support NFTs.
