Rockstar Games confirms GTA 6’s leaked footage

Take-Two Interactive’s subsidiary Rockstar Games announced today that it ”suffered a network intrusion” which enabled access to the early development footage of Grand Theft Auto 6.

A user posted 90 videos of GTA VI on an online forum last weekend, saying that he could leak more data soon. While the media has been removed and the thread has been locked by the platform, the videos quickly spread across social media platforms including YouTube and Twitter, which led Take Two Interactive to file copyright requests to get them removed.

GTA developer Rockstar Games has just released a message on Twitter, saying: “We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto.

We are extremely disappointed to have any details of our next game shared with you all in this way. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations.’’

The company also said that it’ll share an update soon and unveil GTA 6 ‘properly’ when it’s ready.
