PUBG Mobile surpasses 1 billion downloads worldwide

PUBG Mobile has surpassed one billion downloads worldwide within three years, reaching yet another milestone. PUBG Mobile released a ‘thank you’ video from C.H. Kim, CEO of Krafton that also celebrates the 3rd anniversary of PUBG Mobile.

The popular free-to-play battle royale game launched on Android and iOS in February 2018. In 2020, PUBG Mobile was the highest-grossing mobile game with $2.6 billion in revenue, followed by Honor of Kings with $2.5 billion in revenue.

“Our focus was to offer PUBG’s unique BR play on mobile and continue to excite players with fun, thrilling gameplay by creating a variety of new innovative content,” Kim said. “Our work is never done. We remain as passionate about as the day PUBG Mobile was first released. We’ll continue to provide an authentic PUBG experience and go beyond that to bring more to our fans.” he continued.

In September, India banned PUBG Mobile and in November, PUBG Corp. announced that it will return to India, its biggest market with more than 175 million downloads, in a new avatar. It is not known yet if the company will manage to return to the country but a return will certainly have a considerable impact on its continuous growth.
