Istanbul-based mobile gaming studio Dream Games has raised $50 million in a Series A funding round led by Index Ventures and supported by Balderton Capital and Makers Fund, venture capital companies that supported the studio in its $7.5 million seed round in November 2020.
The funding will be used for the debut of Dream’s first title Royal Match, which is now available on both Play Store and App Store.
While Dream Games’ first focus is creating Puzzle games, it is also planning to move forward to build high-quality games in other genres.
“We’re building this as an entertainment company,” said Dream Games CEO Soner Aydemir. “What they did for animated movies, we want to do for mobile gaming. We are focusing on casual puzzle games first because everyone plays these, but we will also move forward with other genres. We want to be a huge interactive entertainment company that builds high quality games.”
Dream Games was founded in 2019 by a team of ex-Peak employees, another Istanbul-based mobile gaming studio which was acquired by Zynga for $1.8 billion in May, 2020.
