India Bans 47 More Chinese Apps Including TikTok Lite, SHAREit Lite and Helo Lite

India has banned 47 more Chinese apps including TikTok Lite, SHAREit Lite, Helo Lite and BIGO Live, which are copies or variants of 59 Chinese apps that were banned last month.

Last month, Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, UC Browser, SHAREit and Helo, as a result of the increasing tensions between the two countries. 

Under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, the Indian Government has banned 47 more apps that are variants/copies of the earlier banned apps, over security issues. 

The government hasn’t shared the full list of the apps yet. But, according to various sources in the Indian media, these banned apps include TikTok Lite, Helo Lite, SHAREit Lite, BIGO Live Lite and VFY Lite. 

In addition, the government has prepared a list of 250 Chinese apps including PUBG Mobile and some apps linked to Alibaba to review them ‘’for national security violations and users’ privacy’’ as reported by India Today.
