Coin Master achieves remarkable $6 billion milestone in global revenue

Moon Active’s Coin Master has officially surpassed $6 billion in global revenue, making it one of the highest-grossing mobile games of all time as reported by Sensor Tower. Originally released in 2012, Coin Master saw little activity until 2016, when strategic updates and user acquisition campaigns began. By the end of 2018, the game was generating over $10 million in monthly global revenue.

The game’s growth accelerated in 2019, grossing $35 million in March and nearly doubling to $63 million by October. The following year, Coin Master reached new heights. Amid the global lockdowns of the Covid-19 pandemic, the game’s celebrity partnerships, notably with the Kardashians and Jennifer Lopez, significantly boosted its popularity. By May 2020, Coin Master had amassed 15 million downloads and generated $113 million in consumer spending, firmly establishing its dominance in the mobile gaming industry.

Since then, Coin Master has consistently earned close to $1.2 billion annually, surpassing $6 billion in total revenue by August 2024, according to Sensor Tower. Despite competition from newer games like MONOPOLY GO!, Coin Master has maintained its stronghold, generating $98 million in global revenue as recently as July 2024, making it the 10th highest-grossing game worldwide that month.

The United States has been the largest contributor to Coin Master’s revenue, accounting for approximately $2.4 billion or 39 percent of the total earnings. Germany follows with 11 percent, translating to $659 million, with other European markets like the UK and France contributing significantly as well. Surprisingly, Taiwan ranks as the fifth-largest market, having spent over $150 million on the game.

In the first half of 2024, Coin Master was the sixth top-grossing game globally and topped the revenue charts in Germany and the UK. The game has also achieved substantial download numbers, particularly in the United States, which accounts for 18 percent of the 356 million total downloads, equating to over 64 million installs. India follows closely with nearly 12 percent of the downloads, representing over 41 million installs.
