Tech giant Apple on Tuesday announced upcoming changes to its Today Tab Ads, which allow developers to showcase their apps on the front page of the App Store.
In a blog post, the company announced that the ad format will now get a more compact design, and feature the app icon, name, and subtitle, starting in July. In addition, it will also display a ‘’Get’’ button and an ‘’Ad’’ label.
The format, which Apple first launched in October 2022, currently requires users to click on an ad to view more information about the app. However, the upcoming changes will make it possible for them to view the ads when they first visit the App Store, without having to scroll or take any other actions.
In addition, it will also simplify the approval process since the updated format won’t have a custom graphic, Apple announced. Developers won’t need to make any changes to their existing ads as they will be automatically updated.
The ads will be visible to all iPhone users with iOS 16.4 and later, in all the countries and regions where the format is available.
