Apple opens App Store submissions for the latest OS releases

Apple has officially opened App Store submissions for its latest operating system releases: iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, visionOS 2, and watchOS 11. Developers worldwide are preparing to build and optimize their apps for these new platforms, leveraging the powerful tools provided by Apple’s Xcode 16 Release Candidate and the latest SDKs.

Through Xcode Cloud, developers can now streamline their workflow, seamlessly deploying their apps to TestFlight and the App Store. The latest OS releases introduce a host of exciting features, such as customizable app icons, enhanced Swift and Siri functionalities, and Live Activities on watchOS.

Moreover, starting next month, developers will be able to integrate Apple Intelligence into their apps. This new capability promises to enhance how users communicate, work, and express creativity, marking a significant advancement in Apple’s approach to artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Looking ahead to April 2025, Apple is requiring all new app submissions to App Store Connect to be built with the SDKs for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, visionOS 2, or watchOS 11. This deadline gives developers a clear timeline to ensure their apps are fully optimized for Apple’s next generation of software. With these updates, Apple is setting the stage for a more dynamic and intelligent user experience across all its devices.
