Azur Games acquires Good Job Games’ hyper-casual games portfolio

Cyprus-based mobile game developer and publisher Azur Games announced that it has acquired Turkish mobile game developer Good Job Games’ entire hyper-casual games portfolio.

Founded in 2017, Good Job Games has a portfolio of over 35 hyper-casual games, amassing an impressive 3 billion downloads. Among their standout titles are Fun Race 3D with over 500 million downloads, Color Bump 3D with more than 300 million downloads, and Run Race 3D, which boasts over 250 million downloads.

“The remarkable success of these games is a testament to the talented team at Good Job Games who crafted projects that truly captivate players. I am confident that these projects still hold immense potential, which we aim to unlock through our marketing expertise and experience, allowing GJG to focus on fresh endeavors. This is an excellent opportunity for us to enhance our portfolio with high-quality projects,” said Dmitry Yaminsky, co-founder of Azur Games.

Azur Games says the acquisition is limited to the game projects and does not involve the acquisition of the company itself or its development teams.

Azur Games, founded in 2017, ranks among the world’s top three mobile publishers based on downloads, which have surpassed 4.5 billion. Notable titles under their belt include Stack Ball with over 450 million downloads, WormsZone.io with more than 400 million downloads, and Bottle Jump 3D boasting over 150 million downloads.

This acquisition aligns with Azur Games’ strategic initiative to broaden and diversify its portfolio, building upon prior agreements with Pinpin Team and KobGames Studios, the developer behind the Mushroom Wars series, among other partnerships. In September 2022, the company acquired 81% of the Mushroom Wars development studio from UK-based Zillion Whales.

“Our focus has always been, and continues to be, making an impact in the genres we work on. We are proud of what we have achieved in the Hypercasual genre, and we are very excited about the future of our projects in the capable hands of Azur Games. As we move forward, we are setting our sights on leveraging our vast experience to focus on making an impact in more genres,” said Nazim Akmandil, co-founder of Good Job Games.

In December, Coin Master-maker Moon Active announced the acquisition of the tile-matching title Zen Match from Good Job Games.
